GALAXIS Technology participated in the 14th China International Battery Fair (CIBF 2021), held from 19 to 21 March at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.
At Booth 005 in Hall 6, GALAXIS and its subsidiary Shenzhen GALAXIS JIECHUANGJIA presented intelligent production logistics technologies for the new energy battery industry.
Automated Material Flow for Battery Production
One of the main demonstrations was an intelligent conveying and storage system designed around lithium battery production processes.
The workflow showed completed battery cells being retrieved from storage by a fire-protected stacker crane and transported to workstations. Industrial robots then completed tray loading, unloading, and automatic cell grading before RGVs transferred the materials between process areas.
The system also demonstrated automated connections with formation storage, capacity grading storage, and high-bay ageing storage, providing visitors with a view of coordinated material flow across multiple battery production stages.
Designed for Demanding Production Environments
Lithium battery manufacturing places strict requirements on operational safety, process control, environmental management, system stability, and equipment maintenance.
To address these requirements, GALAXIS developed application-specific configurations for stacker cranes, roller conveyors, transfer units, lifts, and related equipment. The systems were designed with functions supporting fire protection, reduced metal-particle contamination, stable operation, and easier lifecycle maintenance.
Custom development of core components also supported greater consistency across equipment configurations and production environments.
Fire-Protected Tote Stacker Crane
GALAXIS also presented a fire-protected tote stacker crane for high-density storage applications.
The system uses totes as the primary load unit and operates within fixed rack aisles. Available configurations include:
Load capacities from 20 to 300 kg
Single- or double-deep storage
Single- or dual-position load platforms
The system is designed for high-SKU environments and supports full-tote storage, split-case picking, and flexible material retrieval. Additional sensors can be configured to support fire-risk detection in battery-related applications.
RGV for Flexible Process Connections
The RGV rail-guided vehicle supports automated picking, transportation, and placement of materials between conveyors and production areas.
It can communicate with host systems or WMS platforms and work with RFID and barcode identification technologies to support automated material recognition and tracking.
By connecting different process zones, the RGV helps streamline material movement while reducing floor-space requirements.
CIBF 2021 provided GALAXIS with an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities in lithium battery production logistics. The company will continue developing storage, transportation, and process-automation technologies for new energy manufacturing applications.
