ProMAT 2023 | GALAXIS Showcases Pallet-Handling Automation Solution

GALAXIS Technology presented its intralogistics robotics capabilities at ProMat 2023 in Chicago, engaging with customers, system integrators and industry professionals from across the North American market.

At the exhibition, GALAXIS demonstrated an autonomous mobile robot designed for pallet transportation and introduced visitors to its wider portfolio of automated storage, handling and sorting technologies.

Industry Media Highlights GALAXIS’ Product Portfolio

In its ProMat 2023 coverage, Modern Materials Handling identified GALAXIS as one of the Chinese automation companies entering the US market. Although the booth focused on a single live demonstration, the publication noted that GALAXIS had “the most extensive product portfolio” among the companies featured, covering AS/RS, shuttle systems, mobile robots and sorting technologies.

The report also highlighted GALAXIS’ international development and project experience across pharmaceutical distribution, third-party logistics, battery manufacturing and library storage applications. At the time, the company had already delivered systems in markets including Singapore, Dubai, Hamburg and San Francisco.

Live Demonstration for  Pallet Solution

During ProMat, the GALAXIS team held detailed discussions with visitors on the product’s technology, operating principles and potential applications.

The live demonstration focused on pallet storage and transportation in floor warehouses. Using a side-entry fork configuration, the robot can handle pallet movement across the warehouse floor and retrieve pallets from rack locations.

Designed for loads of up to 1,000 kg, the system operates in aisles as narrow as 1.65 metres and supports positioning accuracy of ±5 mm. This configuration helps facilities reduce aisle requirements while improving pallet-handling efficiency and storage-space utilization.

The exhibition also provided GALAXIS with an opportunity to present the broader development of its product portfolio.

Beginning with shuttle-based storage technologies, GALAXIS has expanded its capabilities to cover the three core intralogistics functions of storage, transportation and sorting. Its portfolio combines robotic systems, automated equipment and software to support both individual applications and coordinated warehouse operations.

At ProMat 2023, GALAXIS also discussed its North American development strategy with industry partners. The company’s approach focused on building relationships with local system integrators that could combine market knowledge and service capabilities with GALAXIS’ robotics and automation technologies.

By participating in ProMat, GALAXIS strengthened its engagement with the North American materials-handling market and introduced its growing robotics portfolio to a wider international audience.
