GALAXIS planned and implemented an intelligent book storage system for Shenzhen University Library, creating one of the first large-scale automated smart libraries in China. The solution integrates stacker crane systems, AMR robots, conveying systems, WMS and WCS platforms to achieve intelligent book storage, retrieval, and circulation management.
The system is designed with a storage capacity of over 3 million books, supporting a daily processing capacity of 20,000 books. Through intelligent equipment coordination and digital management, the library significantly improves storage efficiency while providing faster and more convenient borrowing services for users.

Modern libraries are facing challenges from continuous growth in collections, limited storage space, and increasing expectations for digital and efficient services. Traditional book management methods struggle to achieve high-density storage, fast retrieval, and accurate inventory management.

GALAXIS developed a comprehensive intelligent library logistics solution based on automated storage technology, combining stacker cranes, AMR robots, lifting systems, WMS and WCS software platforms.
The solution adopts flexible storage design and digital identification technology to support automated book storage, retrieval, sorting, and distribution. By integrating RFID technology with library management systems through SIP2/NCIP protocols, the system enables a fully digitalized borrowing process with accurate and traceable data management.
The intelligent book storage system provides 32,680 storage locations and supports more than 3 million books, significantly improving space utilization and storage efficiency. The automated operation reduces manual handling requirements and enables faster book circulation.
With a fully digitalized borrowing process, the system achieves paperless library services and enhances operational accuracy. The complete book retrieval process can be completed within 10 minutes with only one operator, delivering a more efficient and convenient experience for both library staff and readers.
