GALAXIS Showcases Intelligent Shuttle Technology at CeMAT ASIA 2018

GALAXIS presented its intelligent logistics technologies at CeMAT ASIA 2018, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and concluded on 9 November.

The exhibition focused on intelligent manufacturing and brought together nearly 2,500 companies from China and overseas. At its booth, GALAXIS showcased a live four-way shuttle system, intelligent warehouse applications, physical products, and a VR-based visual inspection experience.

The exhibit demonstrated the company’s capabilities in shuttle-based storage, warehouse automation, conveying and sorting, and automated material handling.

FLASH Live Operation

FLASH travels both longitudinally and laterally within the racking system, enabling flexible movement across high-density storage environments. The robot uses supercapacitor technology for rapid charging and discharging and, according to the specifications presented at the event, supports up to one million charging cycles.

Its maximum operating speed reaches 5 m/s. The continuous demonstration provided visitors with a direct view of the system’s stability and operating performance.

GALAXIS also presented a clamping-type shuttle designed for high-density storage applications involving different tote dimensions.

The robot identifies and positions the tote before adjusting its telescopic handling mechanism to the required size. It then grips the tote to complete automated storage, retrieval, and transfer between levels.

The compact design enables the system to support a wide range of products and load formats while maintaining storage density.

Visitors also reviewed GALAXIS technologies including high-speed lifts, AGVs, shuttle systems, and related software and automation solutions.

By 2018, GALAXIS systems had been applied across more than ten industries, including pharmaceutical, e-commerce, apparel, publishing, rail transportation, and automotive operations.

The company’s portfolio covered shuttle-based automated storage, intelligent warehousing, conveying and sorting, and AGV applications. GALAXIS stated that it would continue developing configurable solutions around the operational requirements of different industries.
