Shanghai China, 15 October 2019 — Fung Group Explorium today hosted an unveiling ceremony of “The Logistics Lab” at LiFung Plaza in Shanghai. Initiated by Fung Group Explorium, the Logistics Lab is the second lab of The Innovation Labs project, co-built with Avery Dennison, LF Logistics, G2Link, Galaxis Technology, Libiao Robots, XYZ Robotics and Jingxing Logistics Equipment. The ceremony was graced with the presence of Mr. Dominic Gates, President, In-Country of LF Logistics, Mr. Qiu Baojun, SVP & CEO Special Assistant of GLP, Mr. Stanley Lam, Senior Vice President of Explorium, Mr. Dennis Khoo, GM of Intelligent Labels Greater China of Avery Dennison, Mr. Paul Wong, Vice President of Explorium, Mr. Lankey Shen, Co-founder & VP of Galaxis Technology, Mr. Edger Xing, COO of XYZ Robotics, Ms. Xia Hui Ling, General Manager of Libiao Robot, and Mr. Runlong Zhang, Director of JingXing Logistics Equipment, as well as many industry professionals.
In recent years, China’s logistics industry is rapidly transforming from traditional logistics to modern logistics, and the intelligent logistics industry has ushered in a wave of opportunities driven by the digitalization of the manufacturing industry and the rapid growth of e-commerce. With the stead growth of China’s intelligent logistics industry, the market size is expected to reach CNY 585bn by 2020. The development of the logistics industry rides along with the innovation in technology adaption, service innovation, and business model revolution, which also guides the transformation direction of the industry.
As the innovation arm of Fung Group with the goal to create value for modern enterprises, Explorium launched The Innovation Labs project in 2019, which includes The Retail Lab, The Logistics Lab and The Manufacturing Lab, which focuses on the end-to-end innovation concept which will simulate the process of commodities from being manufactured, packaged and transported all the way to being sold at a retail store. In September 2019, the Retail Lab, equipped with RFID technology, was launched to create a revolutionary retail model; As the second lab in the project, the launch of The Logistics Lab represents a complete transformation of value-added solutions. It also marks another milestone in exploring the future of smart logistics, a big step forward in helping businesses transform for the future.

Explorium, together with their partners, showcases RFID, IoT, image recognition, artificial intelligence, cloud computing technology and logistics intelligent devices. The Logistics Lab is an “unmanned warehouse” project designed to showcase a fully automated warehouse. It enables a “goods-goods-robot” model using new digital technologies to transform traditional logistics for a new era.
