Liqun Group completed the construction and operation of its East China Supply Chain and Modern Logistics Headquarters in Huai’an, Jiangsu Province at the end of 2020, with a total investment of approximately RMB 2 billion and a facility area of about 250,000 square meters. The project serves as a benchmark application in the retail and supermarket industry, integrating Liqun’s supply chain system and accelerating its strategy of intelligent logistics transformation to support retail operations across the Yangtze River Delta region.
GALAXIS provided an integrated smart logistics solution covering consulting, planning, system design, equipment manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning, training, and after-sales service.
In the retail and e-commerce industry, product variety is high, daily order volume is large, and outbound frequency is intensive. The logistics center must handle over 80,000 outbound items per day while maintaining high efficiency and accuracy.
Operational complexity increases significantly due to multi-SKU management, seasonal fluctuations, and peak demand during holidays, requiring a highly flexible and scalable logistics system. Traditional warehouse operations struggle to meet the demand for lean management, high throughput, and rapid response to dynamic retail demand.
GALAXIS delivered a fully integrated intelligent logistics system combining high-density automated storage, goods-to-person picking, and multi-equipment coordination.
The solution includes a high-bay pallet storage system with 8 aisles and 8 single-deep stacker cranes, providing a storage capacity of 600,000 units, as well as a shuttle-based storage system with 2 aisles and 6-level racking, supporting an additional 150,000 units.
The system integrates multiple automated devices including pallet shuttle vehicles, stacker cranes, depalletizing robots, and automatic labeling systems to enable coordinated inbound and outbound operations. A goods-to-person picking system is implemented to support full-case and split-case picking, improving flexibility and efficiency for high-SKU and high-frequency order fulfillment.
The solution significantly improves storage density and warehouse space utilization while enabling efficient handling of large-scale retail distribution demand. The goods-to-person system supports flexible picking operations for multi-SKU, small-batch, and high-volume order scenarios, reducing operational costs and improving fulfillment efficiency.
In addition, the integrated automation system reduces manual handling across multiple processes including transportation, depalletizing, and labeling. The deployment of the WMS 7.0 system enables centralized control, real-time monitoring, and multi-dimensional warehouse management across devices and platforms, enhancing overall operational transparency and system stability.
