OPPO: Large-scale smart warehouse integrating manufacturing and automated storage
Project Overview

As OPPO’s first automated warehouse exceeding 20 meters in height, the facility integrates intelligent manufacturing, automated storage, and hardware R&D, establishing the company’s largest production hub worldwide.

Industry Pain Points

In the consumer electronics industry, logistics systems must support extremely fast product iteration cycles, high-frequency order fluctuations, and tightly synchronized coordination between production and warehouse operations. The industry is characterized by large-scale SKU diversity, rapid demand changes, and increasing pressure to improve space utilization and operational efficiency.

Customer pain points include fast product iterations and order fluctuations causing delays and inventory buildup, low coordination between material handling and production lines resulting in fragmented data flows, and traditional warehousing systems with high labor costs and limited efficiency improvements.

GALAXIS Solution

GALAXIS delivers an MSR + AMR “goods-to-person” intelligent solution, while GALAXIS enables dual-mode storage and retrieval for higher space utilization and provides flexible interfaces reserved for future scenario expansion, forming an integrated smart manufacturing and automated warehousing system that supports large-scale, high-efficiency electronic manufacturing operations.

Impact

The solution significantly improved space utilization and warehouse efficiency, saving 45,000㎡ of floor area while increasing utilization by 7–8 times compared with traditional warehouse layouts.

In addition, the system delivered strong storage scalability with more than 7,000 pallet positions and over 50,000 tote positions, fully meeting 100% of storage demand requirements across production and logistics operations. The integrated “smart manufacturing + automated warehousing” architecture also eliminated fragmented data flows and significantly improved coordination between production and warehouse systems.

Overall, the project established a highly efficient, scalable, and intelligent logistics ecosystem that supports OPPO’s large-scale manufacturing and rapid product iteration needs.
