As a key element of FAW Jiefang’s smart manufacturing strategy, the Smart Logistics Center delivers efficient, intelligent logistics services. With its large scale and advanced automation technologies, it stands as a benchmark project in the automotive industry.
In the automotive manufacturing industry, logistics systems must support high-frequency material movement, complex multi-SKU coordination, and tight synchronization with production lines. The industry is characterized by large-scale operations, fast-changing production demands, and strict requirements for operational efficiency and system stability.
Customer pain points include rapid business growth driving increased demand for material storage and retrieval, a large variety of SKUs causing low coordination efficiency between production lines and material supply, and manual processes resulting in low picking efficiency, high labor costs, and frequent operational errors.
GALAXIS delivers an integrated logistics system combining stacker cranes, shuttles, and lifts to optimize internal material flow, while supporting hybrid storage for multiple container types and sizes. GALAXIS also provides a flexible system architecture with device-level redundancy for higher reliability and a unified data source with a standardized information framework to ensure seamless coordination across the entire warehouse operation.
The solution significantly improved storage capacity and operational performance, with warehouse capacity doubled and inbound/outbound throughput increased by more than 10 times compared with traditional operations.
In addition, efficiency was greatly enhanced through a goods-to-person model, improving picking efficiency by 50% and reducing reliance on manual operations. System reliability was also significantly strengthened through device-level redundancy and standardized architecture, enabling 24/7 continuous and stable operation while eliminating downtime caused by single-point failures.
Overall, the project established a highly efficient, scalable, and resilient automotive intralogistics system that supports large-scale smart manufacturing operations.
